THE STORY OF DICK'S

A Las Vegas Tradition Since 1940

In 1940, Dick’s opened its doors on Douglas Avenue under the Elias family’s – Dick Elias, his wife Kate, and their son Billy. Originally a neighborhood package liquor store, Dick’s quickly became a familiar stop in the heart of Las Vegas, known for friendly service, familiar faces, and plenty of conversation.

From 1973 to 1976, the Calderwood family became the keepers of Dick’s, preserving its place in the community and carrying on the tradition.

In 1976, John and Isabel Moore took over Dick’s. Their family included Linda, Patsy, Rose, Cindy, Jonathan, Laurie, and Wendy. The Moore family began a new chapter while keeping the character and neighborhood spirit of Dick’s alive.

In 1991, Jonathan and Charlotte Moore took over the reins. Then came the deli, the pub, the patio, and many updates along the way – each one helping Dick’s evolve while holding on to its history and hometown character.

In 1998 came another major chapter: the opening of the two-level nightclub with two full bars, creating a new nightlife destination at Dick’s.

In the summer of 2015, Dick’s underwent another major transformation. The package store, deli, and walk-in refrigerator were removed to create one long, continuous bar. The renovation opened the space and created the cozy pub & grill atmosphere guests know today.
